Headwaters R/C Club
The Headwaters R/C Flying Club is a group of model aviation enthusiasts that gather to fly and talk flying and aircraft construction. We fly most weekends in summer and some evenings, depending on weather. Spectators are always welcome, along with anyone interested in learning to fly themselves. Our grass field is located west of Park Rapids, MN, in the Lakes Country of Minnesota, about 25 miles south of the Mississippi River headwaters at Lake Itasca.
Directions to our field: From Park Rapids: From US 71, go 4 miles west on MN 34 to 109th St., then left (south) 1 ½ miles to the field. From Detroit Lakes, go east on MN34 to 5 miles east of Osage (one mile east of the Becker/Hubbard County line) to109th St., then right (south) 1 ½ miles to the field.  (Google - Thanks for the map, but the address is actually about 1/4 mile south of the arrow on the map!)
The 2021 Fun Fly was on August 28 at the Ron Griffith field outside Park Rapids.  A scaled down event included a catered lunch and lots of weather issues, but was still considered a success by our memebers and guests.
                                             Just Visiting ??

If you're in the area on vacation or visiting, a number of us (from 4 to 8+) get together each Tuesday morning from late spring to late fall at 08:30 at Great Northern restaurant for breakfast and usually head to the field for flying, and talk about the latest info.  If you want to stop by, visitors are welcome but you must have AMA mambership to fly.
